About IATH
The Institute for Advanced Technology in the Humanities, or IATH, is a research unit of Library that was established by the University of Virginia in 1992 with a mission to explore and develop information technology as a tool for scholarly humanities research.
They provide faculty and visiting Fellows with consulting, technical support, applications development, and networked publishing facilities. They also cultivate partnerships and participate in humanities computing initiatives with libraries, publishers, information technology companies, scholarly organizations, and other groups residing at the intersection of computers and cultural heritage.
The research projects, essays, and documentation presented at IATH’s website (https://www.iath.virginia.edu/) are the products of a unique collaboration between humanities and computer science research faculty, computer professionals, student assistants and project managers, and library faculty and staff. In many cases, including Digital Sepoltuario, this work is supported by private or federal funding agencies.
If donating through UVA, please type “IATH” in the Designation field to select the Institute for Advanced Technology in the Humanities under the University Library. If you would like to specify support for “Digital Sepoltuario,” enter its name in the “In Honor of” field. Note that direct donations to Art History with Anne Leader will have an immediate impact on my teaching and research.
